Our favorite: Star Wars Red Harvest

05/27/2019

Back in June of 2010 there was a short blurb released about the book Red Harvest. The book is written by Joe Schreiber and is a prequel to his book Death Troopers that was published in October 2009. His books are an interesting addition to Star Wars fiction crossing over into an almost horror genre. You can find the book at Random House's online catalog, and read the blurb below.

The valiant Jedi Knights battle the Sith Lords and their merciless armies during the dangerous and dark times of the era of the Old Republic. However, the Sith have troubling plans. It is none other than Darth Scabrous's fanatical dream, which is about to be fulfiled into a hellish reality.

Most Jedis have been  sidelined to the Agricultural Corp. But not so for a young Jedi, Hestizo Trace whose abilities have not proved up to snuff. She has a gift with platnts, the one extraordinary Force talent that she possesses. An emissary from Darth Scabrous arrived suddenly which violently destroyed her peaceful existence among her garden specimens and her greenhouse. She has been nuturing and have bonded so closely to the rare black orchid which was deeply desired by Darth Scabrous as the last ingredient to fulfil an ancient Sith formula for his greatest benefit.

A never-before-seen virus is at the heart of the formula and is worse than fatal. It transforms and kills. Now the ravenous and the rotting dead are rising. Commanded and driven by a Sith Master  who has bloodthirsty hunger for all things living and with an insatiable lust for power and the ultimate prize: immortality . . . no matter the cost.
